2013-2014 Curriculum Choices

It's hard to believe our summer has come to an end! We were ready for a routine though. As much fun as our crazy summer was, we needed our schedule back. At one point during the summer, K says, "Mom when are we starting school?" Even he was ready.

All summer long, I have been busy preparing our curriculum and new areas within our classroom that will hopefully help me be more organized and more ready for the upcoming school weeks. We have pretty much stuck with the same curriculum choices as last year, but have added in a few as well.

C:  Age 3 (but as you can see, he wants to be 4 when he grows up) in Preschool

Most of my activities that I will have prepared  for him in his Work Boxes come from a program I purchased called Letter of The Week We used this with T last year and absolutely love it. We also use several items from 1plus1plus1equals1.com.

Last year, C was very tough to deal with during school time. He refused to be involved with anything I had prepared for him so I was a little concerned about how this year would go. Our first week with him has been a huge success. He seems to think he is such a big boy and loves moving from box to box. I'm so happy and am praying that he will continue to be just as interested all year long. (For the most part)

I think the Jake Numbers are a huge part of why he loves them so much!

T:  Age 5 in Kindergarten

I'm still at a loss at how in the world this little guy has gotten so big. It was really tough for me this year as I sent my baby off to his classes for the first time. He still seems so little to me yet he is already so extremely smart and has a very tender respectful heart.  He loves school, but wants to know why he has harder stuff than C. :)

C:  Age 6 in 1st Grade

I am definitely starting to notice that 6 year old attitude of 'I will only do this because I have to and I will be able to play my games once I'm done.' If I would let him, his schedule would look a lot like what this shirt says:

As he read through this shirt, he started to smile bigger and bigger and finished with " LET's DO IT!!" LOL. When he gets excited about something. He gets obsessed with something which can be good if directed in the right direction. He loves to learn. Loves to search for bugs and loves to play games!!

Our animal wall for our Expedition Earth/Science Curriculum

My new organization tubs which have already been a tremendous help!
