A Safari Across God's World...

" Have you ever gone on a safari? Your safari begins today. This will be an unusual safari, because you will travel all over the world-from the jungles of Asia to the rainforests of South America. Your journey will even take you to your own backyard as you study the animals God created....You're going to have a great time learning all about animals across the world, identifying their tracks and investigating what makes them a part of God's animal kingdom. You'll discover many animals that have such incredible features that they cry out in praise of their Maker. This will be a safari you'll never forget!"      -Exploring Creation with Zoology 3

We finished discussing Day 6 and 7 during our Bible time and creating our Creation Lapbooks:

This week was the first week of our Science curriculum and we are completely focusing on God's animals...ALL YEAR LONG. This above paragraph of one of our Science resources was a fun and perfect way to hit it off. The boys created binoculars for art and we went on a fun animal hunt around the house. We discussed whether the animals we found were created on Day 5 or Day 6.

Fun little story to read for our theme. T enjoyed reading it aloud to us all by himself.

One of the first things we did was try to picture all of God's animals in our head. We sat there for a while and realized that well, we could be sitting there for a REALLY long time. God's Animal Kingdom is pretty large so we spent the rest of the week focusing on the different classes the animals are "grouped" into. We made a chart that will help us with our larger animal chart that we will begin next week with our Geography lessons.

Intro to Geography:

Boys are singing our Continent and Oceans Song

Labeling our Map:

We had a lot of fun creating our own mini version of Earth:

T insisted we paint Antarctica in white since it's so cold and covered in ice. I thought it sounded like a perfect idea. :)

The Final Product. Boys Chose to hang it right above our Geography Maps.

Finished the week with a Geography puzzle.

Carsten's Letter of the Week: C and Number of the Week: 2!

Random picture I found on my camera. C likes to take pictures all the time, but this was fitting.

He LOVES cutting and is doing so well with it. So proud of him.

This little guy likes to add things to the cart while shopping. He saw this Scout book and HAD to have it. I noticed it was in the cart on the way to the register. I rarely buy him things so I caved and let him have it. He's had fun with it.

Made this "train" all by himself.

Ended his week of Cc!

It's only been two weeks and I feel we have been in school for way longer. We have done a lot of fun things already. Today, I issued Passports and we are "flying" off to China next week!!!

zài jiàn !

(Goodbye in Chinese)
