| Kirby's Monday Morning Greeting For Us. :) |
| Boys are doing a great job at remembering where the countries are that we have studied! |
One of the many things we do weekly is write our names in the different languages. It has been fun to see the different ways it can be written. Thanks to the wonderful idea of a great friend of mine, we have created name books.
| Sorry for the side ways pictures. I can't figure out why it turned it. |
| We were adventurous and made a Korean meal. It was really yummy! Hwa Che (drink), Sanjuck and Ehoba Pak Jon |
| For each country, we discuss the different types of animals that live there. |
| Labeling our South Korea animals under their correct classes. |
We are really enjoying Science this year. Didn't think I'd ever hear myself say that, but I'm doing well and keeping up with it and it's been fun to learn some new things about the animals around the world. This week we discussed habitats.
| Our Science Vocabulary |
| For each Habitat, we created these little flip books. |
| This was interesting to find where in the world we could find each of the different types of habitats. |
We also discussed camouflage. To help them understand this a little more, we conducted an experiment. I asked the boys to leave the room. While they were out, I placed 8 pieces of rectangle shaped pieces of paper on top of these newspapers. Four of them were white and four of them were cut from the paper. When they returned, I asked them how many pieces of paper they saw. I honestly thought they would see them as to me it was clear as day that the other ones were on there, but they didn't. They only counted the white ones. They thought it was pretty cool and wanted to try it again.
C's Work for the Week:
| C wanted to play a game so I decided to pull out this game to review his letters and sounds. We ended up giving him a try at reading the words. He enjoyed using this train as a "guide". He actually did way better than I expected him too. I have decided to start to slowly work on reading with him. Nothing rushed, but definitely when he's interested and for as long as he's interested. |
We finally found a day where we could complete our Great Wall of China! Daddy was a great help. The boys added their own final touches of "styrofoam" then found some of their toys and played with it for a while.
We then flew off to India!
