Day 91!

On Day 91, Principal Clements left 100 Hershey kisses around the room. We went on a Scavenger hunt to find all 100. After we found them, we then used the numbers that were written on the bottom to put them in order from 1-100. We still have not found number 34. Either the dogs or C may have gotten a hold of it.Who knows who got to it first!

Finding our new activity.

Let the Search Begin!

After we found, what we thought was all of them, we sorted them by groups of 10s (1-10, teens, 20s, 30s, 40s, ect...)

Starting to line them all up! As we progressed, we discovered that some were missing, so one of them would search for the lost ones as the other continued to work on their set of 10.

T's turn to order his 10.

100 Hershey Kisses, (ok, actually 99)

Enjoying his special snack!

Prior to this activity, K was already counting to 100 and T knew the general pattern, but struggled with which set of 10 came next. Although I have tried to explain it to him several times on our 100 chart during calendar time, he still struggled with it a little. This activity was the light bulb for him! It was a great visual of each set of 10 and how we decided which set would come next in the pattern. He can now count to 100 completely on his own  and is so proud of himself. (Although, for some reason he forgets 15 sometimes. Weird.)

They are loving the activities that "daddy" is leaving them. I told K this evening that I was heading upstairs to prepare some activities for school. He told me, "I'm tired of doing school." Before I had the chance to explain what school would be like if he weren't homeschooling, he asked, "Is daddy going to leave us another activity to do!?!?" Having daddy home most of the time to be involved somewhat during the day has been a huge blessing for all of us. I love the great memories that he and I are making with them on a daily basis. We will never get these days back and we are enjoying every moment!

Now to prepare for day 92...
