This is our second year, that the boys have attended Awana. They have loved it. We have had a couple concerns with whether they are really benefiting from it like I want them to so I've considered not repeating next year, but they both really seem to enjoy it and just recently, since K has began reading quite proficiently, his interest in learning his verses on his own has piqued. One day he told me, "Mom, I can learn these on my own. See I read them, then I close my eyes and say them by myself!" In his free time during school, he will actually request to work on his verses.
Last year, I had no idea what I was doing and learning the routine. We somehow missed out on the Grand Prix, but I was determined to sign them up this year and I am glad that we did. It was a lot of fun and the boys had fun making their cars with their dad.

The final Products. I think they looked great!! Kirby went online and allowed the boys to choose what style they wanted.

Waiting with their friend for the big race!
LET THE RACES BEGIN..... (K and T actually raced each time. K's came in first every time and T's came in 2nd out of 3. I honestly couldn't tell you how Carsten's did. I know he didn't win. I was more worried he stayed in his seat!)

K is a little blurry because he is cheering his on!

Watching the other races.

Love these boys!

Blue ribbons. K was not happy he hadn't won a trophy. His actually won every race, but didn't compete in time with the other races. What's funny is, I just reiterated that we were there to have fun and if we didn't win, it's ok. I think I repeated myself a couple of times because I wasn't sure if they had heard me. K responded, " I KNOW MOM!" then, of course, he was the one whom was upset.
Trophies or not, they will always be Champions in our eyes and God's :)
